Czech Association for Mental Health

Czech Association for Mental Health (CAMH) is a civic association, founded in 1996, which associates mental health care users, their relatives, providers of mental health care and general public.

We assist in creating a favourable environment for mental health protection and cooperation between organisations involved in mental health care. We support modern, humane and community oriented approach towards all people with mental illnesses.

Our activities can be divided into four basic programmes: destigmatisation (Esprit magazine, Psycho-helpline), pilot projects (Therapeutic community, Law guidebook and legal counselling, Mental hospital patients' rights, Mental asylum information, Watch dog activities, Labyrinth), education (conferences, Grundtvig 1 project, Examples of Good Practices) and an association development programme.

We are an umbrella  mental health organisation in the Czech Republic and we are members of international organisations involved in mental health (Mental Health Europe, GAMIAN).
